Hi Brent..............progress I've only just been able to get back in the garage, so I'm a bit delayed in my reply. Yes, power is at the spade terminal with the engine running. I took the tacho out of the car and wired it to the coil and ignition of my Rover P5b (V8 engine with 'standard' igntion c...

Tacho not working
I reluctantly ask for help again, this time to get the tacho working. One day you guys will get fed up of this endless problem solving!! (but not yet hopefully) I took out the RV1 tacho from my Sprite and purchased a rebuilt RVC Smiths unit (RVC 2414/01F 4cyl. 12v neg earth). I understand that the R...

It must be my lucky day....I got You Tube to accept my video. Don't expect MGM to be quaking in their boots, but it might be useful to view. Here's the link. You could also search under 'Megajolt TPS problem'.

The voltage readings from the Molex pins (when connected to the MJLJ and powered up) are the same as my last email. I've attached a sketch of my wiring just in case there's an obvious error. I've checked the wiring at the Molex to see if I've swapped any wires round but they all appear in the right ...

Hi, I inserted a dummy plug / socket in the cable from the TPS and left the linking wires exposed so I could measure the volts relative to ground. This is what I got:- Throttle closed: Yellow; 4.96v, Green; 0v, Red 1.07v Throttle full open : Yellow; 4.92v, Green; 0v, Red 4.77v I guess green is earth...

Hi Brent, I've downloaded the .mjlj file as requested. I hope that I've understood your term 'power cycle'. I turned on the laptop, connected it to the Megajolt then turned on the car's ignition. I then pressed the 'read' icon and saved the file to the laptop. I trust this is OK. I've added the thro...

Hi, I've done what you said, with no change to the result; I still only get bin 1 and 2 selected on the load axis for nil and full throttle respectively. The only odd thing that I've noticed is that the icons that 'write' and 'flash' to memory are not illuminated when I come out of the Load Axis Cal...

Hi Brent, I started with 0-100 bins and got this effect. However, I'll re-set it again tomorrow and report back. I got a bit confused about the meaning of the bin numbers. I'd assumed that it was 0 to 100% (in 10% increments), but when that didn't work I 'logiced it out' (is that english??) that the...

Thank guys, Analysis spot on......(with the Megajolt connected and switched on), I looked at the configuration and found the Tab....It was under the configuration table, not above, but when open the default was 6000rpm, less 100rpm is near enough 5800rpm. It's now reset to 7500rpm so I reckon that t...

Wow, what a quick reply! Brent, The EDIS limp home (10deg) works fine but I have yet to try to rev to 5800 with only 10 deg advance. I'll do that tomorrow. I don't think I can easily test it in that condition under load without a track to play on. David J, Sorry you've lost me with the Options View ...

Misfire at 5800rpm 750 formula car with 1108cc FIAT engine
Just fitted megajolt to my 750 Formula car and got it working well in the garage. I get a solid strobe flash and spot on advance, even the 2 position configuration switch works. I can't say that I'm fully up to speed with the PC side of things because the instructions are a bit thin on the ground (h...
