i agree with a single 20A, or just put 10A fuses in your 3 fuse holder. all said and done, they are there to protect your wires from burning due to a dead short. even wires not rated for 20A will survive the brief amount of time it takes for a short to blow a 20A fuse. so it isnt really a critical t...

update: having a good look with a magnifying glass it seems that, as alluded to, all the telephone cables i possess, have the wires reversed one end to the other. naturally, getting access to the correct cable and other MJ unit took about as long as it took to remember my username / pwd for this for...

V4 serial tuning cable question
hi all, remind me: is the serial tuning cable the same as a common and garden telephone RJ11 cable? the V4 in one of my cars is not communicating with the control software, and i am using a standard phone cable for that. the V4 in my other car does communicate with the control software, but that is ...

Hi, in order… *your diagram is correct for the Hard Rev Limiter, but bear in mind that is a separate item which you install in the MJ case. It involves a bit of internal rewiring. Is that what you have? *yes, it will be fine to connect all the earths in the loom, then run one wire to a chassis earth...

IMHO, any converter involving the USB port on your laptop stands a good chance of being a big headache. if you laptop has a PCMCIA (older) or Express Card (newer) slot, buy a card with the appropriate socket on it eg DB9, and use that. they always work. you will find hidden on this site, plenty of p...

*'grounding the shield' means that, at one end of the cable, you uncover part of the shield, twist it round into a little pigtail, and solder a wire onto it. that wire is then connected to pin 7 on the EDIS plug, which is there specifically for grounding the shield cables. just make sure the shield ...

1 year on, a problem
hi, this is quite a similar problem to the previous thread. symptoms: *MJ V3.0.0 board *a few months ago, tacho signal lost (on my digital dash) and car in limp mode. wiggled the wires on the box near my leg. seemed to do the trick. now seems to have been a coincidence.. *very recently, car went sud...

on the subject of fuel cut off relays.. i realise there are several ways of achieving that, but the one i chose is to buy a safety relay intended for lpg installations. they are on while there is a regular pulse from the LT coil trigger wire, but shut off if that stops for more than about 2 seconds.
