No, nothing specific. I guess that someone with more knowledge than me (I already wrote that I copied most of the circuits and code from the different locations on the Internet) could easily spot a weak point. Perhaps not.

Add a low value current-sense resistor inline with the motor, amplify the signal with an op-amp and feed it into an analog input on the arduino. It was long time ago, but IIRC you can get these (along with the wires) from a PC power supply - connector for the motherboard. I have mjlj V3, not sure how it is with V4.

Perhaps your 9V battery is bad? If you have analog multimeter, set it to ~500mA and briefly touch battery terminals. It should jump fast to the max, and that shows that battery is good. This is interesting, but isn't 70 deg Celsius a bit low for auxiliary fan to kick in? Can you get 80 or 90 deg Celsius versions?

I did, and it works perfectly. Debian linux, and VMware. I have serial port, so no info about USB-Serial adapters.

I can confirm that user configurable outputs problem is gone. Now it works as it should, switches on above set temperature, and off below.

I can finally use this feature to switch on/off my auxiliary fan for a/c, so that I do not have to do this by hand.
