It's an MED engine with 266 cam, HIF44 and mildly modified head, otherwise standard MG

hi, Rich,
This is what I use in my 1380 Midas. Seems to work very well.

I have just fitted MJ to the 1380 A-series in my Midas. I used the original distributor vacuum take-off on the HIF 44 for the MAP sensor with an inline petrol filter as a pulse damper and it's working fine. With the throttle closed the take-off is definitely on the engine side of the butterfly

Thanks, Martin, I've got it running from the PIP signal now and it seems OK, at least it goes over 3000. Of course I don't know how accurate it was originally, probably not very...

Extra wire

The loom to my coil pack has a fourth wire (green/brown) which has a socket at the coil end. It appears to be original as it goes through the plug and socket between the coil and the Edis. It's evidently redundant now, but I wondered what it might have been for? I think the parts came from a Fiesta

Re: ZETEC INSTALLATION

UPDATE JULY 2008 Next project is to install a Yamaha R1 2002 carb engine in a Ginetta G15 (anyone remember those, or am I the oldest git here?). Yes, I do, and no, you're probably not! I had two G15s, not to mention two G4s and a G21 with a Zetec which I still have. I look forward to hearing how yo...
