to close the loop on this, the 15v zener worked only to 3000 rpm.

18v didn't do anything different.

i ended up not using the tachAdapter, or any MJ signals (none seemed to work). i used the pin 11 on EDIS (CTO - clean tach out)

how did you wire yours to MJ?

it came with a bunch of extra parts i just bought.

it looks like an SDS type coilpack. 4F i believe.

i know they are not sparking (plugs are brand new)

i am trying to deduce if it's the coilpack or the MJ unit or somewhere in between.

i'm trying to troubleshoot if 1/2 my coilpack is blown.

what sort of tests can i do with a multimeter on the coilpack input to see where the problem is?

I've confirmed it's not in limp mode. it's doing everything it should be doing.

i did put new Bosch spark plugs in, but i am not sure if they are resistive plugs.

i also tried out DannyP's latest config and it runs better. i think it's just time to fiddle-fart around while driving.

I just finished rebuilding the motor on my car (2.1L T4 Porsche 914 motor). I had it running before the rebuild fine. i have not changed anything to do with MJ. i took it for it's first spin last night and man was it a dog. could hardly get it home. :( i would have thought it was the MJ in limp mode...

on this note - do you guys know where you can get a distributor plug for a T1?
