Hi guys, Had my mini running on Mj V4 for a little while but i am concerned that my crank sensor bracket is in the wrong place putting my timming out across the board. I guess my question is why would you want to do this? What I mean is why have a fan turn off/on at certain rpm? If you want it temp controlled, you can do that easily with a thermoswitch and a relay. basicly why buy a bit if the mj can do it. Just want to try and make the most out of the MJ unit. i...

Is it possible to get the Mj v4 to controll a electric fan, running off a relay of course. Now i know i could do it using the RPM as a trigger say comming on a 500 to 3000rpm then switching off but can i use the fancy new temp input to tricker one of the user out put at a certain temp??

Just to let every one know, got it all in and the cars running!!! I'm using the alden yellow style map that some one had posted on the community and it all seem to be going well. Need to find tune the map for my engine spec now.

an error comes up requiring some .DLL files so i added the missing file from the internet and then i got a message telling me to upgrade to a new version of windows and it won't run. The problem i have is my laptop on 95 can't connect to the net to get any missing files.

PROBLEM SOLVED well sort of, Right turns out its the USB to serial problem again, I connected the unit to my dads old pc tower updated the firmware (didn't need to but it proved coms worked) the problem now it the old tower is running win 95 and the config program won't run on that operating systerm...

hi, i've checked the cable over and it all matchs up. pin 2 on the DB9 goes to pin 1 on the RJ11 pin 3 on the DB9 goes to pin 2 on the RJ11 pin 5 on the DB9 goes to pin3 and 4 on the RJ11 Still getting the same faults. Do you english phone cable isn't thick enough for this? cos the pics on other pos...

Been trying still even though i don't need to to update my firmware, i can now get to point 9. computer reply: received 0xfc (good).
but at that point it starts a says somthing along pulse sent counting and counts up and just keeps going. does that mean the MJ is responding?

hi guys, swaped the cables around. I hadn't realised that the pic on the diagram is a pic of the mega jolts socket not the front on the RJ11 plug. I have double checked the pins on the RS232 connect and that seems right. But i still get the same fault on the config program.......

I've just re-checked all the voltages and it all looks fine, I build my own cable but i have check that over with the multi-meter and that looks fine. I am using a USB-serail adaptor but i have also tryed it on a laptop with a serail port and on xp and it gives me the same results. please help.

V4 in the red case. Ok, i'll stop trying the firmware, just the problem connecting the config program then.

found this topic really helpful. but im having a problem i get to point 7 (7. computer reply: Waiting for HC08 reset ACK... ) left it 10min and nothing. just stopped at that point. Does that mean my MJ isn't sending anything back? any one help me with a fix for this? thanks
