I to have had the same problem when buying from the USA, it seems to be the luck of the draw if you get stung for VAT or not..... Sounds as if it could work ok, would look quite mad... you would have to use the original pickup as the EDIS will mot work with an hall pick. As far as I know?

Yes, being bolted to the coil-mounting bracket provides the grounds for the cap
The small wire from the cap should go to the positive feed to the coil.

What operating system are you using?
32meg of ram is quite small?
Try shutting down any programs you are not using to free up as much memory as possible
