I have the same problem on a v4 board and can't get to the bottom of it either. Going to have another look at it tomorrow ans see if I can find anything.

Just finished building V4 and connected to computer using direct serial link (not USB). Getting above fault "timeout reading cylinder count" any ideas? All voltages check out OK. Unit is powered by 9v battery at mo with nothing else connected. Battery voltage does drop down to 7.8 volts wh...
