Can anyone explain why we've had to cross over the wires between the VR sensor shield and the VR+ output in order to get a spark from the EDIS? (the VR- is unaffected, still goes to pin 5)

I've spent ages trying to find the answer to this - can someone let me know whether I can use a hall-effect sensor such as the Cherry GS100502 with the Megajolt in place of the Ford VR sensor?
