Having put the old distributer back on and to confirm the problem isn't there and to get the ignition timing from it we have ruled out the mapping as the cause. We had a look at our bracket and are going to try a different one. We tapped the end of the bracket that holds the sensor and it rang like ...

Our sensor bracket is an old ford alternator bracket and is over 5mm thick. The trigger wheel itself is pretty sustantial and was bought in a kit from trigger wheels. It can't hurt to double check any run out or possible movement but the bracket we have is probably more substantial than those in the...

Coil pack was brand new on my setup. moved the edis module and nothing changed. Tried running the car in just limp home mode (megajolt disconnected) and the problem has dropped to between 5000-5500rpm. This makes me think there's something missing in our map that the dizzy is doing. our low speed pr...

Old topic this but i have the same problem on an XR2. The car just goes to crap between 6000-6500rpm but will if you keep at it pull itself through. It also will not pull smoothly or at least as smoothly as it did before below 2500rpm but for the moment we're assuming its a different problem. At lea...

I just read this in the megjolt manual on here. Using the Tach Out on the MJLJ Many tachometers can accept the signal emitted from the Tach Out on the MJLJ module. This Tach Out signal provides a 12V pulse for every ignition event. You may use this to provide the signal to compatible tachometers, or...

Why does our rev counter work

Sorry this is a bit long but i'm trying to put as much info in as i can. Basically our rev counter is an old type that took it's reading from a single coil and shouldn't read correctly with just a reading from one side of the coilpack but it does!? My dad and I are installing a MJLJ on a MK2 fiesta ...

Well after all this i'll be going with a wideband sensor and controller. I discovered that the 0-1v sensors only really cover about 0.5-1:1 of the A/F ratio each way around 14.7:1 so for a carb setup this is useless as we would probably be happy enough with that much of an error around 14.7:1 and no...

Sorted :D Just out of interest should i have a controller for the heater on the narrowband sensor? I haven't been using one  I assumed it was just a set resistance to a 12v supply and controlled itself!? oops. If i do then sod it i'll go and get a 2 wire sensor and just wait for it to get up ...

Right so having read all the bits all i need to do is make the board mod, wire the output of my lambda directly to the MJLJ's aux input and the ground of the lambda to the ground on the MJLJ (it is a 4 wire 1 volt sensor that i have) and then setup some kind of scale for the incoming voltage and the...

I meant voltage on the wideband in referance to lean and rich etc as in the 0.2v on the one i have is rich. Thanks for the link but i really don't have any more money to spend. I will look into it for the future though. Do you know how i would wire a lambda directly to the aux input and how i get th...

 I guess i must be using a narrow band then. I don't really know much about lambda sensors all i know is it was cheap. I'm sure it had four wires i'll check i may just be going loopy reading all this info and thinking i do.

Any idea on the voltage reading for a proper wideband sensor?

Lambda input

Hi! I'll soon be receiving my megajolt and i'm very excited. I'm very interested in the aux input. I've looked around here and found a few articles on knock sensing, wideband logging and about the mod to allow 0-5v input. At the moment i've been using a lambda sensor and a voltmeter to try and sort ...
