Sounds like a good idea to me!

I'd be up for a meet in the midlands somewhere! Be rude not to as I live just down the road from bruntingthorpe - ooooo could we get on there?

I know the USB serial converter is more common, but I use a PCMCIA serial port plugged into my XP laptop that has no serial port.

Works a treat and isn't so sensative as some usb adaptor cables.

Just another option if you have a PCMCIA slot.

Not sure if this helps but.........

If your AX GTI is anything like my 205, bearing in mind Citroen and Peugeot share technology, you might have to modify your tacho to accept the 12v pulse from the Megajolt. This has been mentioned in another post (I am cheap and cheerful), but I removed the first two components in my tacho a resisto...

Just a quick note - you have swapped plug leads 2 and 4 over, as your firing order is 1324 instead of the ford 1342.

Sorry for the late Reply.

They are Yamaha R1 Mikunis - cleaned and rejetted to suit the engine. Yes I guess they should have the float bowls level with the ground, like yours will be, however I had my manifold done by a company here in the UK - Bogg Bros - I lived locally. They have been my rolling road tuners for over 10 ye...

Just a couple of 205 GTI's Having a new lease of life!

205 Fitted with 306 S16 2 litre 16 Valve engine, running Honda Blackbird Carbs, not my car, bit a story. Friend was asked to 16 valve the car, incorrect engine supplied, best of a bad job, the owner was advised to fit it with carbs, and Megajolt was the only ignition option. So i did a full plug and...

Typical Eh

That one looks like the one in my gti, had another one floating about the boot of my daily drive, just popped out to get it and it looks different to that one.

Do you want to send me it and I'll have a look at it for you? Where has the plug gone?

Call me cheap and cheerful!

I guess i did it the cheap and cheerful way and took out the offending items from my tacho, just took it apart, modified it and hey presto it worked. There seem to be at least a couple of tacho's as the one's i've done have been different - but hey it works job done.

205 GTI TACHO not working

Hi there, I have a 205 GTI fitted with a megajolt, and my Tacho is working fine - you need to get your tacho modified, take a few bits out of it. I had a few issues, i modified mine, now it uses the tacho signal from the megajolt and it works fine now. got a vid on you tube in my shed with it runnin...

Have you tried Maplin?

Hi there, Bit of a shame you're missing a few, I bought a load spare ages ago from RS Components cost me about 20 quid for 100. I've since got a few spares from Maplin, see the link below, you get the 20 pin connector and 20 pins for £1-50, you can't really use the connector for much, i cut it down ...

Re: R1 Loom/carbs/TPS help

Hi there, Ideally it should be grounded/eathed the same earth point as you earth the megajolt, edis module etc. Must admit though mine is earthed to the engine, at the same place the chassis is eathed to the engine. The rev counter has been a tricky one, it hasn't worked in the past but I did some d...

ORB - I hope this helps you out

Hi Orb,

I seem to have been having a bit of trouble posting back to you???

Hope the attachment comes through this time.

Left - Connected to ground

Middle - Should go to "TPS INPUT" on the megajolt plug

Right - +5V reference voltage

If you need more help, I'll see what I can do.

Hi there, first time posting but thought I could help you out if you need??? I have a 205 MI16 on R1's and bogg bros manifold sitting outside the back door with a V4, if you still need a hand I could have a look for you (I did the wiring) just can't remeber which way round it is from memory off hand...
