Just putting ideas in there. I suggested the engine fault as you said iut only happened after you "gave it some" I did recommend disconnecting the Megajolt. You could also try replacing the EDIS with another. Otherwise, it's likely to be a wiring, cps mount or engine issue. How is the rev ...

Disconnect the megajolt and run it on EDIS alone.
See if the problem is megajolt or the ignition map related.

But, from your symptoms.. It could be a sticking valve, bent unseated valve....

Hi David.

Yes, as I understand it that is correct for both v3 and v4 controllers.

You may need to reflash the chip.. I'm not sure about that..
Try it,if it doesn't work. Try the reflash.

Don't seem to be many responses on here right now. :( I guess Brent is busy? Spam in the General Discussion area too! So not sure how active this place is anymore. :( But perhaps I can help? From what I know. Knock sensors feedback a voltage dependent on the amount of knock. This a value 0-5v. Megaj...

Brent?

I'd like to move forward with this project. But don't want to risk erasing my test Megajolt unit.
However, I don't want to add unnecessary hardware if it's not needed.

3 cylinder engine.

I know Megajolt works with Edis 4, 6 and 8.

Could it work on a 3 cylinder engine using an edis 6 and only using half of the bank?

Ta.

If not....
An option for Megajolt 2 perhaps?
:)

Are there any undocumented API commands? V4.

Are there any undocumented API commands, or other commands? I ask as I am looking at building a project for my car that will use a basic serial bus. Commands sent between the megajolt a display and a secondary processor. Some commands ment for the display or processor would be sent to the megajolt t...

Is the voltage going into the unit at least 12v?
If not, I'd be looking at the alternator.

Old post I know. But this may be of use to others. On my loom I have made a bullet socket connection into the 12v wire from the megajolt. I also have a matching bullet connector on the coil power pin from there megajolt. I run the wire from the coil pack to this point with a bullet connector on. Thi...

Vaxhaul coil pack is 4 wire.
12v, earth, coil 1 & coil 2.
Make sure these are wired correctly otherwise you won't get a spark.
Try connecting the earth and see what happens.

Failing that. Use a ford coil pack instead.

I run a zetec in my mk2 fiesta. When I've built looms for others or they ask advice. I always recommend using a relay. Switched from an ignition live, that stays live when cranking as most don't. The relay takes its feed direct from the battery to the Megajolt, edis and coil pack. As long as you use...

Nope.

Any EDIS 4.
If you are installing on a 4 cylinder car of course.
:)

Some are easier installs than others.
I.e. pin 11 being blanked, or not. If you run your rev counter from that pin.
But other than that, all the edis4 units I've used have been fine other than pin 11.

"g" Global byte reading via software.

Apologies if this is in the wrong place. I'm building a display that pulls data from a megajolt unit. Reading global seems to only pull 63 bytes. The API manual says 64 in one place and 65 in another. Which should it be? It currently works on 63 bytes. One other question. Can I sell hardware and sof...
