MJ Input
The MJ expects a differential input; you might try transformer coupling. I suspect the amplitude needs to increase for higher rpm operation. Magnetic coupling is common, because it doesn't suffer so much from dirt. good luck, Bruce Roe

If I read right, a spark plug requires one spark for every crank revolution (360 degrees). If so you can just use a 36-1 tooth wheel on the crank, which fires each plug once a revolution. But it won't be waste fire anymore. The other end of the coil output will need to be grounded to complete the pl...

You could do it with one trigger wheel driving 2 VR pickups and 2 ignition systems. Since you couldn't locate the pickups only 4 degrees apart, space them 120 + 4 = 124 degrees apart. You will also need to change the coil driver wiring to get back the 120 degrees. I see it as a pair of 6 cylinder ig...

Upgrades
Well since the units are now upgraded and up priced, maybe the software bugs in the logging and other programs ought to get fixed now. I listed a handful earlier this year. Bruce Roe

You can program the AUX input (0 to 5 volts) to shift the entire timing map some number of degrees, can be plus, minus, or both. The amount of shift you program at some 10 different voltages, doesn't have to be linear. Your input circuit can be a temp sensor or a pot, with a circuit to generating th...

TRACING COIL PACK
Assuming that unit is just coils, no transistor drivers. You can find the pairs of secondary outputs (to each coil) with an ohm meter. They might measure 500 ohms, usually they are directly across from each other. The primary should be 3 coil wires to drivers, and a common 12 volt pin. An ohm meter ...

As a sanity test, I suggest you remove the plugs and the injector wires (or you have a carb?). Ground the plug wires so that the ign can operate without damage, and disconnect the MJLJ for EDIS limp mode. Spin the engine with the starter and use an inductive pickup timing light to check the position...

There were caps connected to the harness of my coil packs, from the factory. They are a lot less than 25 micro farad, about 0.24 mf on my bridge. The original mfg thought they were worth the cost, to avoid interference caused marginal operation of systems in the car. I don't want to be tracing bugs ...
