Noggy, what wheels are those on the starlet in that pic? I'm really digging them. The wheels are called 8 spokes (they really used their imagination there, huh?!) and were made by a company called Weller Wheels here in the UK. Looking at Wellers site http://www.wellerwheels.com/ it doesn't look lik...

We did destroy the first engine by revving it too high, which produced more heat than the poor old dear could cope with, and we blew the head gasket.
Second engine has been good so far.

Thanks for the compliment. :) The zetec is a Ford 2 litre 16 valve iron blocked engine with a aluminium head atop. In the UK it came in 1.8 and 2.0 (there was a 1.6 too, but this was mechanically different) and was fitted to Mondeos and Focus'. I don't think you had the Mondeo in the States, but I t...

UK short circuit Toyota Starlet

Here is the Starlet that my mate Kev runs, I've been helping him get the ignition up and running with the aid of a MJLJ. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4077/4880076328_ecf756f6e3.jpg Toyota Starlet 2 litre rod 238 by chickenwaahoo, on Flickr The car is getting on a bit now and would of had a pinto o...

Ugh- Lost oil pressure - the bane of racers everywhere! :) Yeah, bit worrying, it was the oil filter which came unscrewed, second time it's happened. Need to make a clamp to hold filter in place. Do you have a blog or a team web page? Sorry, nothing like that. Racing and fixing takes far too much f...

Well, bit of a mixed day really. Got a first in the first race. :D Got a second in the second race. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRzec5eE75g And in the third race the oil filter came loose, dumped all the oil and seized the engine. :( MJLJ worked a treat though, but could do with a RR session t...

Hi Brent Well, that's the weird thing, with the engine off the 0 - 100% sweep was fine. But with the engine running it would only go to 10 - 12%. Now, if observed on the runtime screen, the TPS signal is good. :D Quick question, on the TPS calibration (load calibration) window, what is the purpose o...

Well, bit odd this, and follows the lines of Patriq's previous post. Went up the workshop with an open mind, hooked up laptop (it has a serial port, so no usb issues here) and same problem was witnessed. First thing I tried was removing the tps from the car to see if there was an installation proble...

Bad TPS signal.

I put a post on Patriq's thread, who had a similar problem which cured itself, so thought I'd start my own plea for help. Car is a short circuit spaceframed saloon racecar using a 2 litre Zetec silver top with DCOE carbs. Car has no alternator. The car was test run on the edis alone, which was fine....

Hi Thanks for the reply. I posted on your thread because the symptoms you described are exactly the same as what mine is doing, and thought I'd save some diagnostic time. :D Just had a look back and you are correct, there is no mention in the instructions about needing a shielded cable for the pot. ...

Did you ever resolve this? After a fresh install this afternoon mine is doing exactly the same, but I did not have enough time at the workshop to start troubleshooting and now it is bugging me like mad! Just to flesh out my problem the TPS reads fine with engine off but is erratic and only reads to ...

TPS specification

Hi everyone. I've been in and out of here for a few years, having previously built and used a Megasquirt, but have not registered before. I have just ordered a MJLJ for my oval race car project, a 2 litre Zetec engined Toyota Starlet with Weber DCOEs fitted. I have tried searching, but have been una...
