Thanks for the comments guys. I guess since I've already got this 2 microfarad suppressor I may as well splice it into the 12v supply to the coil. From the comments it seems it can't do any harm.

I just heard today about using shielded cable for the tacho - does that help any?

I'm currently intalling my megajolt junior using a Ford EDIS4 and coil pack and remember reading somewhere that a 25 microfarad suppressor should be fitted on the 12V supply to the coil, but I don't see that mentioned in the fitting instructions I downloaded.
