Took car to Austec in crawley today the map is now sorted but needs to have other problems sorted before I put it up. It appears the valve clearances arewrong or the cam timing may be incorrect. Will have to strip down and check again....... :x

Hi maps for a Alfa GTV will be diffcult. Does anybody in the alfa owners club have the advance curve for your distributor ? I would surggest you start with the base map as I did and just validate the engine runs then get a rolling road to create the map from the off they can also make sure the fueli...

Ok update. I took the car down to Geraldale on monday. Car was almost running on air as expected. Gerald changed the existing needle and adjusted it to make the fueling safe with current ignition map (SPI2). This has sorted the fueling issue so that I can adjust the advance map without worrying that...

The Needle is BER (Was this standard out of factory for minis ?) but I think someone has been at it with a file. The spring I am pritty sure is standard red. No paint left could test it at work but will leave it till next monday as they said they have a selection of parts for SU carbs. I have a copy...

Ok so this evening I have tryed a few things. I tryed retarding all values in the spi2 map by 5 deg. Very little or no difference made to uphill power. Then tryed takeing raw map and just bumping up a few of the advance figures round the high load area to make it flatter. This made a little differen...

New Rockers/ CAM Installed

Last week I installed new cam MED HT (timed to 110 deg) and 1.5 Rockers. Now have the car up and running again with the timing chain adjust correctly and valve clearances set etc. Prevously megajolt was working fine with the SPI2 map. Bought some plugs BPR6ES work fine could not find the 7 in the shop but will go for these when I go to the motor factors soon as the 6 is not really appropriate for my mini. Car is now running as of this afternoon. Played with the 1380 map from the forum. Seems to work ok from 900-2500rpm the idlein...

Map Sensor

Brent Now have the map sensor working was due to dodgy soldering (Reads exactly 100kPa and with pipe on bench have got it to change). Progress

Have this afternoon wired up a relay and taken a feed from the solonoid. I believe haveing hooked up an oscilscope to the VR sensor that it is working fine. When I have charged the new battery tommorrow will fire it up. Going to dismantle the Megajolt see if anything is obvoiusly wrong with the MAP ...

MAP Pressure, MED VR Sensor And Spark Plugs - A Series

Have connected to the MJLJ when I first switched it on I noticed the pressure sensor goes to 250Kpa. Its not imediate happens over about 4s. Any ideas ? could this be a faulty sensor ? Have tryed connecting a tube to the Sensor blowing sucking down tube but it does not change the on screen reading. ...
