That's my thinking
Well I've got a spare oscillator, so I'll replace it and see if that helps. I've already done the voltage checks and there's 5v in all the right places, so no danger of blowing it up!

Hi Dan,I can't help you,
Hi Dan, I can't help you, but I too have a V3 board that a friend ordered from Brent pre-built and that won't communicate with my laptop. I know my laptop's fine as it works with my older V2 board fine. I wonder if there was a bad batch sent out? Any ideas Brent? Matt Dearden http://www.cate1.co.uk/...

Right, that terminal program didn't work either! Neither C or S gave anything back. I'm using a model boat battery which is 12v so no power issues. I should add that I've got my own MegaJolt (v2) which works fine and communicates with my laptop fine. Below is the output when reprogramming with the b...

Comms wierdness
Guys, As some of you many know, I'm trying to fix a knackered MegaJolt for a friend. I've replaced the processor with one Brent sent but it still won't talk to the Java program or via HyperTerminal. So I tried re-programming it with the bootloader and megajolt code. This worked fine! Any ideas why I...

Hi Brent,hc08sprg.exe
Hi Brent, hc08sprg.exe outputs as follows: Waiting for HC08 reset ACK... then when you plug the Megajolt in it ouputs: received 0x00 (off-key). Calibration break pulse sent. Count: 22 and that count just keeps going up. The processor on my ECU is hard soldered in so I don't fancy swaping them incase...

V3 COMMS problem
Hi all, I friend's given me his V3 board to check over as he can't get it to work. I've tested it and can't either. I'm using an older laptop with a proper comm port and cable which I know works fine as it communicates with my Megajolt V2 no problems. I've tried the Hyper-Terminal test and the mjdia...

Sounds like you've only got
Sounds like you've only got the bootloader software on the ECU and not the actualy Megajolt firmware. See here on how to upload the firmware: <a href="http://picasso.org/mjlj/?q=node/461">http://picasso.org/mjlj/?q=node/461</a> You can download the firmware and bootloader programming softw...

Typo!
Hi Jack (I've emailed you direct too),
You are correct in assuming it's a typo. You need to remove Q8 and D7 as shown in the photos. I have no idea why I wrote D5 & Q2 initially, but I've now corrected it )
regards

I never doubted it would work
I never doubted it would work, but being a software developer I know the meaning of the words "beta version" ;o) Just like to test it all out in a controlled environment first. Going back to the original question, any chance of the rev limiter appearing soon Brent? cheers Matt Dearden (2lt...

In a couple of months
I will be, but not until I've changed the camshaft and re-taxed it. Should trial it out in March on a rolling road (The Tipton Garage in Devon if you know it?). I'm going to order a new load of bits so I have 2 Megajolt ECUs and will compare the results. Hopefully it'll work fine and I'll keep the b...

Can't upload maps and rev limiter
Hi Brent, I've tried a couple of times to upload the map I'm currently using along with a link to all the others but keep getting an error: "You exceeded the maximum submission rate. Please wait a few minutes and try again." any ideas? Also, you mentioned a while ago about implementing the...

Cheers
Happy to host any map you might have. I'm trying to build up an archive (as you can probably tell!). I really think Megajolt's the perfect solution for us kit-car builders as it's so much cheaper than any of the "off the shelf" ones you can buy and you can build it yourself. Please feel fr...
