Checked all wiring and its as it should be.
Still no rpm showing and no control over ign advance.
Voltage at pip static is 14v and 7v when running.
Any deas other than chuck it in the bin and buy a competitive unit?

No rpm shwing in configiratir...
Hi, Have installed MJLJ in basic mode ie Ford Edis and MJLJ with simple +ve, -ve, pip and saw connections. Now, the edis must be working as the timing is rock steady at 10 btdc with the MJLJ disconnected. However, when i plug the MJLJ in, i don't get anything showing on the rpm dial in tbe configura...

Thanks bud, I was obv concentrating on the 'wrong' bit there! Focused on the carb where it was pretty obvious now that you've pointed it out, that i should have been thinking more of tge dizzy - schoolboy error there i reckon  Thanks again, now all i need to do is to get the tacho working; hav...

Thanks, i'll put it in exactly as you advise. I know you're right, but i'm trying to get my head around this being the 'wide open' settings as when i took them, i was revving the engine in the garage and the throttle was only slightly open as there was no load on the motor; am i right in thinking th...

Setting initial advance values...
Hi, I've installed the MJLJ and so i can replicate my 'standard' ignition setup as a good start point i've measured the advance at static then for every 500 rpm increment thereon by increasing the engine speed whilst in the garage ie presumably no load(?). I've then put these values into an ignition...

Smiths RVC rev counter - driver board not working.
Hi, Still not having any luck with the above wired in with my MJLJ - rev counter works fine on the original coil system, but no joy at all on the MJ. I've tried 'pull-up' and 'pull-down' resistors on the i/p to the tacho and have even 'flashed' the tacho to see if +12v would have any effect; it does...

Tried connecting the tach out of the MJ to my tacho and still doesn't work  :? Any more ideas or suggestions anyone? Also, still cannot get my laptop to see or open the com port; it has 4 usb ports and when i plug in the usb/serial adaptor, it acknowledges the hardware but won't let me access ...
