OS X

Any chance of a fresh release to run under OS X - or Linux?
I'm still running version 2 under Java and it'd be nice to have some new sooper dooper software...

V8's

I've seen it on a Landie - and if I have it running on an old Flathead V8, shouldn't be a problem on a Rover V8! Just do a search of the forum, plenty of people doing it, for instance:-

16 way

Hi John,
Couldn't source the 14 way, so used a 16 way instead - can't remember if it came from Farnell or RS though.
There's space to overhang it on the board, and I just opened up the slot in the end panel that Brent supplied.

siamesed ports

I wouldn't worry - bear in mind you have siamesed ports, then one carb is actually linked to two cylinders anyway. BUT, personally I'd throw the twin carbs away if they're 1-1/4"s, they'll never make as much power as a single large SU! Especially on a factory manifold. I used to pull 85hp at th...

mjljTune on MacOSX

I used the Keyspan one that gives two 8pin DIN serial ports - old Mac style RS422 serial ports, hooked up to the Megajolt using a modem lead for a Swann external modem... I'm sure there'd be a more direct root, but I used what was lying around. Mail me here and I'll send you my version of the Megajo...

flattie update

Through some water in, ran it up with the dynamo - didn't affect it at all. Plugged it into the Mac and watched the runtime. Seemed OK so just been for a night time flit in the countryside. Runs very smooth indeed, apart from my knackered leaky old Holley 94 which gives an idle between 200 & 700...

flathead success

Oh? the birdbox? Just wanted to dress it up to look a bit like an old T wooden coil sitting on the firewall. The megajolt case sits in there on top of the EDIS module, sharing a common stud at the top. I'll give the box a coat of varnish when I've finished! Oh - also, successfully connected to your ...

Flathead success

Stripped the old band-aided dizzy and leads off the other day, and finally installed the coils and megajolt tonight. And it ran! Well - second attempt anyway. Toothed wheel was 180° out and in the fading light outside decided it was quicker to move it, than try to fathom which coil leads to swap. W...

sensor position

Hi - just sorting out the sensor position on my flathead V8. Trying to fathom wether the sensor goes 50° before the sensor, or the other way round is doing my head in! Found this image and wondered if it's correct? Phil <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/hotrodfil/ediswheel.jpg&q...

OSX software

Hi Alex - don't know if you're still out there, but I have now successfully used OSX to upload the configuration. Because I was using a USB serial adaptor, the serial name didn't match what was in the pull down menu in the Megajolt software. Luckily, I have a friend who programs for Adobe, who looke...

Found your Wannado site - reckon you've the same disease I have... Hemsby in a 100E? Are you mad?! Must have taken days! I'm planning on a second system on my 23T for the Hotrod Drags in september.
Anyway let me know if you need the map I've done. It'll be a start?

flathead base map

<r>Started to do one, but unsure on the mapping for vacuum. Reckon between us we could work something out? I think 24 degrees total at about 2500 is where we're aiming. Got any install pics you could send? I'm putting it on my 24 stud... in my Pilot!<br/> Phil<br/> <br/> <EMAIL email="phil@shelfange...

dynamo?

Just a thought - has your MGB got a dynamo? I was about to ask the self same question as to whether anyone had any experiences with a Megajolt fitted to a vehicle running a dynamo.

nice trigger wheel

Presumably the curved slots are to allow adjustment of trigger position. Nice.
So, what diameter, what thickness, and obviously you had a few spares made...?! If so, how much?
