Re: Legacy OBDII to CAN issues
I did some more testing this weekend. 1) Swapped the cat5 cable between the Legacy OBDII and RCPMK2. This is running Racecapture on a PC. No change, still no data from OBDII. 2) Confirmed that the vehicle OBDII port is working by connecting to a scanner. Receives data. 3) Connected to a CAN enabled ...

Re: Legacy OBDII to CAN issues
Brent, I reconnected in setup 1) and I get nothing from OBDII. Went through the wiki instructions to make sure I'm not missing anything.
What's next to figure out the problem?

Re: Legacy OBDII to CAN issues
Thanks for the response. To clarify I have tested the following setups: 1) Pre-CAN vehicle --> Legacy OBDII --> RCP MK2 --> Laptop running RC USB connection to the laptop. Legacy OBDII has RJ45 connector as supplied (no modifications) **Was able to successfully configure the OBDII and read data. 2) ...

Legacy OBDII to CAN issues
I'm having issues getting the Legacy OBDII to communicate with my Racecapture Pro MK2. My setup is using a Raspberry Pi to run the app. When I first got the Legacy OBDII unit I connected on the bench and everything worked fine. Now I'm further along on my project and connected in the car and have ot...

Not sure why that's happening. Anyone else seeing the same problem? We released two RPi app images so far; you might want to try the original image on a fresh OS build and see if that changes anything. Success!! Loading the archived version of Racecapture (1.10.2) on a fresh OS build (Jessie Lite) ...

Anyway to get this to work along with using a USB battery backup so you don't lose power during a pit stop during a race when a kill switch must be used? I plan on supplying power from a circuit that stays live when the ignition is off. It will only power off when the emergency kill switch is turne...

As you suggested I loaded the full RPi image (with Noobs) on a second SD card. The touchscreen works as intended. So I know the hardware if functioning. Then switched back to the other SD card (with Jessie Lite), boot up and start racecapture. No response from the touchscreen. So then I started over...

This looked really cool and just what I need. I got the raspberrypi and display and 12v-5v 3A powersupply. Went through the installation instructions. Kind of convoluted since it is follow this link, do that, then follow this link etc... Felt more like a scavenger hunt. :? But all in all it went ok ...

Stieg, Here is the exact wording of the 2016 rules: Section 7.3.1 6) From the start of qualifying through the end of post-race inspection, vehicles may not have any adjustments or modifications made to systems that could alter chassis dynamometer readings by changing horsepower levels (without the d...

RCP in NASA ST car?
I'm building a car to race in NASA ST2 and WERC. Race Capture Pro looks like an awesome product with much more capabilities than much more expensive digital dash systems from companies like motec. There is a possible hangup to using RCP because it has wireless communication. NASA does not allow any ...
