Race Capture + Tablet = Telemetry??

Hi All, I have the OBDII RaceCapture and connected through it's WiFi Access Point is my Tablet (same tablet we used with the RaceCapturePro). However, now that the tablet is connected to a WiFi spot it doesn't seem to want to use it's internal antennae to reach the cell phone towers... this means I ...

What Windows app do you recommend to do a reset? "* Factory reset You can issue a factory reset by connecting to RaceCapture using a serial terminal app over USB (not using the RaceCapture app). Connect to RaceCapture using the COM port assigned by windows. Once you connect, hit <enter> and you...

Well, now just as before when I had that odd issue with the Encryption being a non-existent selection; now I deleted the text in the Client Mode fields and now with power cycles my Access Point Mode stays enabled. I even had it out to the car and it connects via OBD/CAN power. Hooray! Now, if I coul...

brentp wrote:When configuring your access point, make sure your access point password is at minimum of 8 characters. the 1.9.0 app enforces this, not sure if you're on the latest.

Try checking that and let us know. Thanks!

Everything works ok when I'm plugged into usb on my PC, connects to the 1.8.0 app on PC and phone simultaneously. I close the PC app via the "EXIT" button then disconnect from the PC (it was providing power only at this point) and plugged the race capture into a wall adapter for usb power....

Ok, I think I found my issue. Under access point mode config, somehow my Channel was set to 255 and encryption was set to unknown. Those aren't even options so I completely missed it. It was stuck in a weird place where I could "connect" to the WiFi but I couldn't access the unit and setti...

Well it seems that my situation has worsened, I am now back to running 2.10.1 and cannot get a wireless connection to the app. I can connect my device to the Race Capture's WiFi signal but the app doesn't see it. Very strange, I can connect easily to my PC over the USB cable. I've spent hours messin...

I'm having difficulty getting the RaceCapture to connect to anything other than USB (PC) now. WiFi Module is enabled and Client Mode and Access Point Mode are both disabled (Tried enabled too to no avail). What is the default that we should be setting to? Everytime I try to make changes, it's all re...

Re: Android WiFi connection not stable

It's on my end, but both my Galaxy S6 and Samsung Tab 3 will connect to the RC unit but then disconnect once they do not see an internet connection. Any tips? Would I be correct in assuming these are WiFi only and do not have a bluetooth module? Thanks! I'm experiencing the same behavior with both ...
