This may be a dumb question, but is it safe to remove the SD car while the device is still on but not recording?
I want to download and check data between sessions but not turn the device off so the GPS signal stays strong.

I reinstalled the firmware one more time and it cleared it up. Everything works now.
I guess there may have been some glitch on the first install.
