Recommended way to measure 20A current with race capture?
Hi, I'd like to measure and log current to a device (fuel pump) in the race car. I find existing devices that convert 0-20MA to a 0-5V voltage, and I can set up a current divider in line with the pump to generate a the 20MA current. This seems overly complicated though. Is there an easier way to do ...

Track detection screen pops up unexpectedly some times
Hi Brent. When Lemons racing with pro mk2 on rpi some times when we start the car up, after fueling for example, the rpi application puts up a screen asking if we want to design a new track. The driver can not reach the screen, so race capture is dead/unavilable for that entire session. Is there a w...

Display the Time Of Day on tablet?
Hi all,
This seems too simple to be a real issue, but I do not see a way to display a formatted time of day on my race tablet.
Does this exist or must I build up a time string from the constituent parts?
Thanks,
Pete

RPi connectivity to mifi
A quick note for RPi users, not RaceCapture specific, but which might be helpful.
The RPi connects to my Verizon mifi ONLY in 5 GHz. So if you set the mifi to use 5 GHz instead of the 2.4GHz you might have better luck.
Worked for me.

followup question. Racecapture with virtual keyboard on RPi
I have everything working very nicely with the RPi version of RaceCapture. Thanks Brent! One last problem is that I don't have a keyboard exposed for this. I installed the virtual keyboard and that works outside of RaceCapture, but The race capture application seems to run in a maximized window and ...

RaceCapture autostart on RPi?
I am trying to get the auto start of RaceCapture to work, but to not restart automatically if I close it. I did the recommended setting in rc.local of /opt/racecapture/boot_racecapture.sh pi and it starts racecapture, but if I close racecapture another is started automatically. I am not using the wa...

SunFounder 10.1" capacitive touch
In the "Hard wired RPi" thread, there are instructions from Joe D. on how to make the touch screen work. It is early in my testing, but this screen does look like a viable option if you want a bright 10" screen for your RPi.

SunFounder 10.1" capacitive touch screen success
I am building a display with a SunFounder 10.1" capacitive touch screen. On the initial install, the touch screen was not responsive. I found Joe D's comments about the settings for this screen and made his changes for config.ini and am happy to report that the touch screen is now responding. T...

Anyone have success with SunFounder 10.1 touchscreen?
Great looking 10" display. On my install, the touch screen does not work with Race Capture though. The touch screen works properly with the OS before you start the race capture app. Keyboard operations don't seem to work in race capture either. I searched the web a bit and I can't find any clai...

$12/GB and $0/month sim option using XFinity/Verizon.
One other option to consider is the XFinity mobile for $12/MB if you already have a Comcast account of any type. I did have to mess with the APN settings a bit to get it to connect, but it seems to work in my Nexus 7 tablet. I also had to have an old IPhone to get them to give me the Sim card. Freed...
