Working again :D
Just an update, I swapped the map round so that lowest pressure and revs are at top left corner and now the system seems to be stepping through the points fine. Thanks for the suggestion. I was fairly sure that the map had worked the other way round before but maybe I just saw that it was moving and...

Hi again, The megajolt
Hi again, The megajolt unit is homemade but with chip pre-programmed by Brent, the system has previously moved around the map as expected. The pressures ranged from about 100 to 50 so should definately have moved. Is it likely that the firmware for the chip has got corrupted? My laptop is pretty old...

Runtime display shows that timing is not changing for differ
Hi everyone, When I look at the runtime display for my megajolt unit I have found that the system is not jumping across the different advances for varying manifold pressures. The advance moves across the top line [100 kpa in my case] and goes to different sections for varying revs but the system isn...

That's the one I meant.
That's the one I meant. Thanks, I got a bit worried on final test when I found that.

IC1 Voltage problem?
Hi there,
Where my voltage should be equal to the power supply voltage on the IC1 unit I am getting a voltage about .4V lower than supply voltage. This is testing with the chips installed. Is this wrong or should I expect a slightly lower reading at this point?
Thanks
John

Uk source for vacuum pipe bulkhead connector and vauum hose?
Hi there,
Does anybody know of a uk source for the brass bulkhead hose connectors and vacuum pipe needed if using the map option?
Cheers,
John

Hi again,
Hi again, That's a good point about the siamesed ports. Are there any telltale signs that pulsing would be causing problems? i.e. could I just attach the map sensor to the one carb and somehow test if it worked allright? Slightly off topic, but I'm afraid the twins are staying on. I've only got a 99...

Hi there,
Hi there, I noticed that your part number for C3, C4, C5, C6, C8, C9, C10 [105857] is for an aluminium electrolytic capacitor not a ceramic one as on the parts list. I found part no.430870 which is a ceramic capacitor. Don't know if this will really make much difference as I'm not great with electro...

Thanks for the replies,
Thanks for the replies, sounds like the balance pipe is going to be the best take-off point. Would just have been a bit less work taking it from the origional vacuum advance take off. I've ordered the kit now so will hopefully be starting the project fairly soon

Map sensor on Twin SU carb'd mini?
Hello everyone, I had a quick search through the forum and couldn't find anything about this but sorry if I'm repeating old stuff. I am thinking of putting mjlj on my 998cc A series mini. It has twin carbs and one of the carbs has a take of for the distributor vacuum advance. Will using this with th...
