The easiest way I've found is: Mount the sensor as it will mounted be when the car's complete. Turn the engine to TDC as precisely as possible. Offer up the trigger wheel with the centre of the missing tooth aligned with the centre of the sensor. Rotate the trigger wheel 90 degrees (or nine teeth, t...

That all depends on the conditions i.e. engine speed vs. engine load vs. throttle opening. Cruising on a flat motorway for example, the engine's turning at a medium speed but is under only a little load and thus the throttle's only part open, so you'll see about 2/3 vacuum. Have you tried the simplified tach diode circuit? Basically touch your tach trigger wire on the INPUT of the Zener diode, eliminating it from the circuit. I know of people that have had good success with this after getting exactly the problem you describe regarding the needle hitting a wall and drop...

No, fuel won't affect things at all. It doesn't on my car, and doesn't seem to bother any of the car's my mates run with the same system. The only reason for the reservoir would be to smooth pulses from multiple runners, but if you only use one take-off, there's no problem. Good luck with the contin...
