Are all four cylinders firing and are all the headers nice and hot - if so that proves that the firing order is right.
With the laptop connected do you see RPM dropouts? If so have you checked your trigger wheel and sensor alignment? You should be aiming to keep any runout below 0.25mm for the sensor gap try aiming for a nice even gap of 0.75mm all the way round.

Hello Jamie,
For your initial testing, make sure the MJLJ is disconnected, as it is not needed for basic installation testing: The EDIS module will fire the engine at 10 degrees BTDC in "limp home" mode.
Trace back your trigger wheel / sensor alignment ensuring you've followed the step-by-step directions here:
http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V4_ve ... stallation
Make sure your engine is at TDC for #1 when you are aligning the trigger wheel and sensor.
If you're still getting backfire problems, try swapping the 2 outer drive wires feeding the coil pack (10 and 12 from the EDIS module)- your coil pack wiring may be out of phase with your engine.
Let us know your progress!
