to add ignition bin values (rpm and load)

Post by SEB79 »

HI

I would like to know how it is possible to add ignition bin values. 10 values are not enough for a map. Thanks for the tipes and advices.

Hello,

The unit is fixed at a 10 x 10 grid. Do realize the unit performs linear interpolation smoothing between bins and ignition map cells, so this gives the effect of a much larger map. You will see this effect in action once the unit is running on the engine and you are monitoring it.

IMHO, 10 X10 is plenty. And as Brent says, interpolation happens automatically between bins. Fine tuning a map takes a while, I wouldn't want to do it with MORE bins.

ok i understand this argument. But i take an eye on maps building thanks an omex software
and i supposed it will be more adequate to build a map at differents rpm. I don't think it must be difficult or impossible to add values.
Could you just try to explain how to modify our own sofware ?
it's not a wrong appreciation of the megajolt. Just a desire to increase a better interpolation beetwen values.

Hi,

Memory limitations in the firmware has the limit restricted to a 10x10 grid. Megajolt 2 system will have a slightly larger map- currently at 12x12, also linearly interopated.

Also remember you can change the bin values so you can effectively get more Bin resolution/granularity for certain RPM/Load ranges.

An example that gives you more resolution mid-range:

500 1000 3000 4000 4500 4600 4700 4800 4900 6500

I use 500 600 800 1300 1800 2800 3800 4800 5800 6800.

It gives me gretaer resolution down low for low rpm drivability. Once advance is all in, above 3800, I don't need a lot of bins.

Thats similar to how i would set mine up DannyP. Advance doesn't change much further up the rev range.
