Hey team. Thanks for the suggestion to move to a new topic, Ryan. I've got a new V4 built by AutoSport Labs.
I can get and write ignition maps but I can't "write" global prefs. I was trying to change number of cyl from 4 to 8 and got a runtime error everytime.
Anybody else have this problem?
I've got a multimeter already so I can take it apart and check the board if necessary.
Thanks Team!!
Can read/write ignition map, CAN'T read/write global prefs

Thank you for posting a new topic. Believe it or not you do seem to have a different problem too boostedmini.
It doesn't sound like you have a problem with the hardware if the computer is talking to the MJLJ. When you say global prefs, I guess you mean Global Controller Options. I don't think you will be needing a multimeter at the moment
Can you confirm if the MJLJ unit is changing the advance on a running engine??? Just to confirm the MJLJ works in this respect or does it stay at a solid 10 degrees advance (limp home mode).
Personally I would go down the route of reloading the firmware as this can occasionally get corrupted and cause problems (but not very often). To do so follow this link http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_Firmw ... rade_Guide
If you have any questions or get stuck then get back in touch on this topic and I will try to detail where you are having problems.

Thanks for the reply, Ryan. I don't have the engine running yet in a confirmable manor. I figured I'd run it up with a distributor and then confirm it runs in limp mode right off the EDIS8.
I'll take it from there and post my results.
Thanks again, Ryan..
