MJ not advancing

Post by kclm9803 »

Upgraded from v3 to new v4 unit on the MGB4AG
The version 3 went to the 65 jag e type and is happy there.
I wired in the new molex plug and connected my laptop using V4.0 software.
Flashed my favorite Ig map and..........
Software shows all the right stuff but the timing light indicates no advance at all.
Green light is on
How can it be that my laptop sees the advance moving as it should but it's not working?
Worked fine with the v3.

Hi,

So by what you are saying - you see the RPM and the advance changing in the Megajolt configuration software, but no advance observable using the timing light?

if this is the case you should check the connection between the SAW and the EDIS module. the SAW line sends the signal indicating what ignition advance the EDIS module should use.

Also, Make sure you're using the pinout for the V4 controller, findable in the installation guide.
