I purchased a map for a 1.8 Zetec engine some time ago for a kit car I was building. This Map had been created by the supplier following a considerable amount of time on a rolling road.
I now have a 2.0 Zetec and was wondering if the same map should be used? My reasoning being that the only difference between the 1.8 and 2.0 Zetec is the bore size. The stroke is the same.
So should the same Map work perfectly? or would further set up be required

Every engine is different.
Bore is different, ok but what about cam profile, exhaust & intake efficiency? It is basically linked to how the volumetric efficiency has changed.
I assumed, fuel setup has also changed with new engine at least because of displacement.
My answer is some changes are more than likely required.
Your previous map could be a good starting point but if it is well optimized for your previous setup, you might be borderline.
I would back off some degrees at WOT to be safe and go to rolling road again to be 100% sure about what you've got.
