Software Change
Could you change the latest software to java, or make a java version show the gauges. Thank you
Thanks.
Why is Java important? are you referring to any particular frameworks that run on the raspberry pi?
For the new RaceCapture app we are looking at the kivy framework, which allows fairly easy cross-platform development. The programming language is Python. Demo video of the new app: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vQFcxZjDVw
We're looking at this to power a mobile-app version of the megajolt app, so it can be run on a mobile device (phone / tablet).

The older versions of the software that run Java work on the raspberry Pi but don't include the on screen gauges, whereas the newer software have the gauges but don't work with the raspberry Pi, it is a standalone screen and will become a permanent fixture so a tablet would be no use and much more expensive, thanks for your replys
Got it.
The old (ancient) java version of the app is obsolete and will not me maintained in the future.
Good thing is, the kivy framework is also known to run on the Raspberry Pi, so that is certainly a possibility for the future.
Side note, the RPi is a pretty slow device, though - You might want to consider a BeagleBone Black with display instead as it has a much faster processor.
Thank you for your feedback!
