Track detection screen pops up unexpectedly some times

Post by ppressle »

Hi Brent.
When Lemons racing with pro mk2 on rpi some times when we start the car up, after fueling for example, the rpi application puts up a screen asking if we want to design a new track. The driver can not reach the screen, so race capture is dead/unavilable for that entire session.

Is there a way to entirely disable that screen and have it just keep trying to figure out what track it is at once the connection/telemetry stuff wakes up? I believe i have the automatic track detection feature enabled and it works 90% of the time. How about just making the timeout for that screen 10 times longer?

I believe my version is about a year old.

Help? Race in 2 weeks...

Hi, We are working on a general improvement around this area of the system. What race tracks did this happen at?

If you have the "ESC" key wired up to a button, then ESC will dismiss that dialog, FYI.

Thanks.
The last two were Buttonwillow and Sonoma I believe. It might have been twice at Sonoma though as well as those were the last two races we ran.

No buttons yet, although I'll eventually do something for the pit communication feature.

This will be addressed in the upcoming 1.15.0 app. ETA not exact, but should be within a couple of weeks.

This happens to me consistently at Willow Springs Raceway, big track.
I see the update is released. Are there any other steps after install to prevent this screen from popping up?

Thanks

Once it is dismissed manually it should not pop up again for about 24 hours.

Also, with the latest app, the popup will auto-dismiss after a number of seconds.

Let us know if you don't see the expected behavior as described. Thanks!

Thanks Brent,
Looking forward to it working. I'll post back after the next event.
Will it also not pop up for 24 hours after it auto-dismisses?

Correct, It should wait for 24 hours before it pops up again.
