Hi,
I am looking into adding MJLJ to my current project.
I have been in touch with Bill Shurvington here in the UK who can supply the system though he gave me some prices based on the "TPS" (I assume - Throttle Position Sensor) version.
How many different versions are there and what are the main differences?
I am currently building a VW KR code 16v engine, which I am hoping to run on Honda CBR carburettors. I don't actually think I can attach a TPS to these carbs?
Reading through this site, I was planning on just hooking up the Manifold Vacuum (MAP) part. Is this right, or do I still need a TPS?
I'm a little confused!?!?!?
Cheers,
AL.

OK, I think I have worked out
OK, I think I have worked out that you can either hav an MAP (Manifold absolute Pressure?) sensor or a TPS - Is this right?
If so, which is the better setup?

Hello if you are using carbs
Hello if you are using carbs then my opinion is tps
The sensor can be placed on these carbs, I made a bracket to
fit twin dollerto's myselfe.

If you can get a reliable MAP
If you can get a reliable MAP reading, the MAP sensor is more accurate. It more accurately measures the engine load than measuring the throttle.
That said, I think you'll get satisfactory results from both.
The board is set up with a MAP sensor by default, but requires a mod to do TPS- it's a bit of a hack, but not too bad.
The next V3 board revision will have proper circuitry to support TPS and will be integrated into the main interface plug on the MJLJ.

Cheers guys... I am actual
Cheers guys...
I am actually going to try using Motorbike carbs. I have had a look at them and see no way of attaching a TPS at the moment.
I think I am going to have to strip down one of the spindle mechs to see if can be modified or a replacement made.
I would prefer to go with the MAP sensor, though on carbs, I believe it is difficult to get a good vacuum without pulses on low RPM?

Cool - I thought that the MAP
Cool - I thought that the MAP sensor would be the better option...
So would it be best to tap off one or two intake ports, or all four?
