Hiya,
Ive had my megajolt setup running on my 1600 crossflow, but Im concerned about the mounting of the crank sensor. both its security and the accuracy of its positioning.
Now I had a thought yesterday. Is there anyway that I could use the electronic bosch distributor from a later escort to provide the crank position signal. The dizzy bolts into the block without any problems. Its normally works by sensing when one of four 'triggers' passes a sensor. obviously id need to cut this down so that it only had two 'triggers' (one each for TDC on 1 and 4).
My concern centres around the fact that ordinarily the megajolt recognises the missing tooth and therefore missing signal on a 36 tooth timing ring where as this way it would only get a signal as it came up to TDC.
Is this possible or have I just confused the hell out of everyone??
Cheers
