VR Sensor to Trigger Tooth Relationship
When positioning the VR sensor above it's trigger tooth (50degs for a V8 ), where should the centre line of the VR sensor point too?
The top leading edge of the tooth.
The centre of the tooth.
The top trailing edge of the tooth.
Thanks in advance.

Either:
a) Choose your sensor mounting position and install the sensor
b) Set the engine to TDC
c) Connect (loosely) the trigger wheel to the crank
d) Rotate the trigger wheel (only) until the VR sensor points at the middle of the tooth that is 5 before where the missing tooth would be (if it wasn't missing, that is)
e) Secure (tightly) the trigger wheel to the crank
Or
a) Secure (tightly) the trigger wheel to the crank
b) Set the engine to TDC
c) Find the middle of the tooth that is 5 before where the missing tooth would be (if it wasn't missing, that is)
d) Mounting the sensor at that position
Cue multiple posts on what 'before' means.....

Martin, yes the engine is at TDC in the photo.
Brent you can use this and any other photo's as you wish.
One other thing, testing the VR sensor after installation.
I connected a digital volt meter set on AC volts directly to the VR sensor. With the engine at idle about 800 rpm i was reading 9.4V and when i raised the revs to about 1800 rpm i was reading 18.9V. Is this what i should expect
