TPS calibration question

Post by -Ad- »

Just calibrated the tps scale, and it works fine. 0 with no throttle, 100 with full throttle.
BUT a quick thought, with no throttle, the idle stop still holds the throttle slightly open.
So should that be "within" the tps range? If you get me.

I.e. Its now calibrated as closed throttle is when its idling(with the idle stop keeping the engine running)
Should the throttle be FULLY closed, the tps then calibrated, and then the idle adjusted to open the throttle slightly to let the engine idle(and so you have a tps reading when the engines idling...?)

If you understand what i mean?

Hello,

Typically the TPS is calibrated within the available TPS range. So, how you have it now should be fine.

Ok thaks Brent.
So when the engines idling, the tps load will be 0, which there isn't a load bin for on the map?

In this case the first load bin is used. Remember- the load bins indicate ranges, so if your first load bin is say, 10% that load bin would handle 0-10% load.

Ah right, ok mate. I get you.
So it'll just run the advance entered in bin Load 10.

Sorted then.

Cheers again.
