Distributor Advance V Mega Jolt advance Figures

Hello Guys something just struck me when I set a figure of we'll say for istance 20 deg of advance on a particular bin is that 20 crankshaft deg or 20 Distributor deg?, The reasion I am asking is I was just looking at my last map and found that Im runing 16 deg at idel which is exactly twice what the book recommends

For a MJLJ, the bins are crankshaft advance...

...by the way what's a distributor? They don't exist in the MJLJ world :)

Hi Paul, It's degrees BTDC, measured at the crank.

...isn't it always measured at the crank? :)

the question then is where did you get the map? if you have a look at the maps posted in the map section, there is a surprising variation in their settings, particularly at lower rpm, so i would guess it is just coincidental that the map you (presumably) downloaded, has a figure of twice the spec for your motor.
