Hi Anthony,

For the signal wires you can use 22-24 gauge shielded cable. A foil shielded, 2 conductor cable for PIP/SAW and the VR sensor would be great.

For the other wires going to & from the MJLJ, 16-18 gauge is sufficient.
For the EDIS module- use 12-14 gauge for the power, ground and coil pack connections.

I'll update the Installation guide with this info. :)

Dimensions gauge/metric

Hi brentp !

I´m absolutely uncommon with the US messurements of wires , never heard before.

Shame on me !

So please translate the 12-14 , 16-18 , 22-24 gauge to european squareMM scale,
this would help a lot .
I understood that the 2 signalcables ( PV , PIP , SAW )must have a shield , also the ground must be
a "thick" cable and fixed on the same spot with the EDIS - but what is " thick" ???

When the device arrives I want to have all in stock !

Hi...

so thats saying to use 2.0 - 3.0mm on the coil pack connections... but the coil pack that iv got has tails on it that are no more than 1.5mm, am i going to have to pull them out and put bigger in??
The only thing is i cant get the connector apart :(

cheers

It's not a critical- it's a conservative value that we specified. In a previous discussion the rationale was that the OEMs were skimping on costs with the smaller diameter wiring. A DIY'er has the opportunity to put slightly larger wire on for a little bit less voltage drop to the coil- in the end, not likely a noticeable difference.

So, if you need to extend your coil pack leads I would just splice onto the existing leads with whatever is handy, 16 gauge (equivalent) minimum.

Hope this helps.
