mjlj wont pick up rpm

hey guys, im new here and i put a megajolt on my triumph tr6 and its staying in limp home mode. i can communicate with the mjl and the map sensor works fine but im not picking up rpms. i double checked my connection for the pip signal and im getting ac voltage there. any ideas? im running version 4

Hi Randy,

Are you detecting a PIP signal on the board side of the right-angle molex connector of the MJLJ board?

If so, trace back and verify you see a signal on pin 6 and 9 of the 232a transceiver (U2), and pin 9 of the processor (be careful, don't let your probe slip when measuring a live circuit)

ah brent, beautiful! thanks for the quick reply, the joint for the molex wasnt bridging to the board. problem solved! also is there any way i can find another right angle led holder? mine burnt out i think i applied too much heat to it. thanks

Good. While you have it apart, it's probably a good idea to check all of your solder joints to make sure they are shiny and bright.

Regarding the LED- is the plastic holder damaged or the LED itself? If it's just the plastic holder, I would just put a blob of hot glue around the base of the LED to support it at the level of the hole in the end plate.
