If the primary and secondary resistances of the Astra coil pack are similar to the Ford values then it should be ok. I'm using a Bosch Vectra V6 coil pack in my car and it works fine.

Double check to make sure the astra coil pack doesn't have a built-in ignitor. Can you post a picture of it?

Assuming it's for a 4 cylinder engine- If it's a standard coil pack, then they have split the common pin on the EDIS pack into separate pins for each coil pack primaries. You would just tie those two back together for the +12V connection.

And, of course, check the primary/secondary resistance. It's highly likely the coil pack will be compatible.
