You could plug in different values of rev limit on the fly if you wanted. Have you ever thought of that???
Just have a rotary switch connected from all the outputs to the rev limiter board. Then set each output to a different value of rpm and switch to the value you want. Although i'm not sure whether the soft limiter acts as a buffer prior to the hard hitting in. Just a thought anyway.
