Wirring diagram problems

Post by Lynton »

A lot of time and effort have been put in by various people in constructing this site so i dont wish in any way to offend or upset anyone. The wiring diagram listed at http://picasso.org is not correct.
It shows edis pin 10 linked to coil terminal 3 and edis pin 12 linked to coil pin 1.
I have purchased second hand, both a Ford Mondeo coil pack and edis unit complete with about 6" of orignal vehicle wiring on each. Edis pin 10 and coil pin 1 both have green wire with a red trace, and edis pin 12 and coil pin 3 have green wire with yellow trace. On further experimentation if the edis and coil are connected up as the drawwing the spark plugs fire 180 degrees out of phase. If Edis pin 10 is connected to coil pack terminal 1 and Edis pin 12 are connected to coil pack pin 3 all works fine.
I know someone will say you only have to move the plug leads, but the Coil pack i obtained is clearly marked with the cylinder numbers on. Also the error could be in the numbering of the coil pack connector, But if you look closely on the coil pack connector body the pins are numbered, 1,2 & 3.

After reading about a few corrections a while ago I downloaded and altered the diagram for my own uses. I think it's correct...
