E30e gas scaling

Hey guys - just did my gas gage last night. You do need the cluster due to how the resistance works out in the sensor (and not having to shoot 1-2 amps of current through a voltage divider to get the proper values...).
Also my 0% was like 1.12V and 100% 0.12V... thought it was weird. I'll have to keep an eye on it, it could be that we have a bad sender.
The cluster gas is really slow to read, so I'll see how they align over the next couple of days.

I'm working on getting speed out of the cluster into the RCP next.

For temp, I wired up a new sensor, but now I have to think about how to scale it and see if my nominal temperature works out... should of left the OEM, and correlated to the stock gage! Maybe I'll re-do that...

We have a general guide on calibrating any analog sensor here https://wiki.autosportlabs.com/RaceCapt ... ate_Sensor

If you don't know the sensor's calibration you'll need to do the brute force method and measure the resistance across a temperature range.

We also have calibrations for some well known sensors here: https://wiki.autosportlabs.com/RaceCapturePro_Sensors

Keep us posted!

(NEVER MIND - FIXED)
Make sure to have OBD turned off, and my temperature sensor went bad on me. All of those combinations screwed up the setup, now it seems to be working well.

thanks anyway!

Not sure what's going on, today I had some signals showing up on my dash, then after a restart some were gone and others that weren't on came on.

Here's my setup
E30, M50 motor, all analog sensors

2x temp sensors, resistive, oil temp and water temp. <- these are iffy, sometimes they work, sometimes after an app restart one of them won't work.
2x pressure sensors (0.5-4.5V) <- these seem to be solid and not giving issues.
Hooked those up first, seemed to be ok...
Last night I wired up tach (right most on the header) and speed input from dash.

RPM didnt work, speed didnt work.

Batt voltage sensor seems to be working well too.
So, speed, rpm, and the two temp sensors are questionable. The gas gauge I can't tell since I haven't run it enough to see a drop.

Great. Glad you got it working!
