hi guys,

just trying to get up and running, 2L zetec.
with the new softwar installed, when cranking the engine over I get the tps guage moving with the throttle so comms are good,
rev guage on the megajolt software doesnt register anything- should it show some revolutions? in which case
i guess i have a problem with the sensor?

any help appreciated- im getting a bit lost with it all!!!

You probably won't see any rpm at cranking speed - I think the MJLJ only springs into action around 450rpm - so I wouldn't worry about it.

Best suggestion for an install is to:
- set up just the trigger wheel, sensor, EDIS and coilpack and get the engine to start and run using the fixed 10BTDC timing from the EDIS
- THEN introduce the MJLJ and verify you get variable timing with rpm...
- ... THEN introduce the MAP/TPS sensor and verify you get variable timing with rpm and MAP or TPS

It's a really good step-by-step approach - if you put it all together in one go and it doesn't work, you won't know which bit is causing the problem, and you'll end up fault-finding in the same order as above anyway! It's also a great way of learning how it all fits together....
