Alloy Triggers?

Hello,

I'm looking to get my crankshaft pulley remade in alloy and wondered if at the same time I had the 36-1 triggers fabricated as part of the pulley.

Can the triggers be made of alloy, or do they need to be made of steel?

Cheers

Trigger wheels have to be of ferrous material ie normally steel - alloy, by itself, will not work at all.

One way that apparently works well is an alloy disc/pulley with cap head steel bolts every 10 degrees (with one missing of course) and then pointing the VR sensor at the cap heads.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the info. As an alternative I'm thinking the rear of the alloy pulley could be machined to accept a ring gear style trigger wheel instead.

Cheers
