Hello crew,

I would like to run my car on the system but what I d'int found is the connections
on the board for the TPS sensor. Is there anyone who can help me with this?

TPS Wiring

Ivan,

To wire in a TPS you need to mod the board slightly. Get some fine single core insulated wire and run this from the N/C pin of the X2 connector to the hole in the circuit board where the Output pin of the MAP sensor should be (don't install the MAP sensor). The Output connection is the one that goes to R7. Also run a wire from a +5V output on the board to one of the other pins on X2 connector such as PMG4 (don't connect the Pin for PGM4 to the board as well, so you won't have the PGM4 functionality). The TPS should have 3 connections, use a shielded 2 core cable, the sheild core will go to ground, the +5V will go to the input of the TPS and the 'TPS' (was N/C pin) will go to the signal connection on the TPS.

The above sounds a bit complicated, but it's very easy, honest. If you haven't bought your board yet then you can get a ready TPS modded board from Guy Hill, contact him at guy.hill@htservices.co.uk. That's where I got my ready modded board from, works great!!

Ground connection

Nick,

I've wired up my board as per your description above, but have a couple of questions regarding the ground connections.

1) Why does it need to be shielded?
2) Do you connect it to any ground on the car or the ones going into the Molex connector?

thanks

Matt

Kitt,

I don't know if it requires sheiling, but I had some shielded cable and thought it better to use that than introduce any problems by not shielding.

The ground runs from the ground connector on the TPS to the ground connector on the Molex which then runs to car chassis.

Thanks

Cheers Nick,

I've got a load of proper engine wiring so will see how I get on with that. Can't imagine it need shielding as it's just a variable resistor AFAIK.
