We're running MJLJ + Megasquirt 1.0 on our main R&D platform.

Happy to say there are no plans on doing a full EFI system in the near or distant future. :)

The MSII is that the ignition can be controlled like the MJLJ but can be installed KNOCK SENSOR

That's a pity Brent, as i'm really pleased with the Megajolt functions.....and Autolabs service..... and as Salamander says, the Megasquirt can also do the ignition.

This website seems to say that the Megajolt is (was) designed by the Megasquirt pair? http://www.bgsoflex.com/mjl/mjl_edis.html

Hi John,

Thank you for the kind words. We're trying to show that DIY does not preclude high-quality- and we continue to work hard to create a great experience for MJLJ users, and we hope that shows across the board-- from the electronics to the software.

We're not ruling anything out for the future, but there are other exciting projects we want to explore first, and these will keep us very busy!!

The history behind the MegaJolt Lite Jr. was that I carried forward the idea behind the the Megajolt Lite, a B&G project that didn't proceed forward. As a result, the MJLJ was developed independently by me (now Autosport Labs) and was not inherited or transferred from any other party. At the time, the Megasquirt did not have in-built ignition control, so my solution was to create a stand-alone ignition controller.

Regarding Knock Control: With the V4 aux-input feature (and V3 when the firmware is ready) the signal from the GM knock sensor can be adapted to interface with the MJLJ. The Advance correction table + the 'peak hold' feature, would, in principal, provide a degree of knock control when configured to retard ignition upon a signal threshold. Of course, knock detection is only as good as the system detecting the knock signature- and the MJLJ only reacts to the "Knock" signal. Note, we have not tested this GM knock module.

I hope this clarifies things.

Hi.

I would like to better explain the functioning of control AUX-INPUT/knock

my English is not very good and I need something more practical, such a drawing-paint.

Can someone installed a knock sensor to the input signal? show us how to.

I have a problem with the CR it's too high for my camshaft, the fuel here is not good quality and is very important for me to reduce the knock retarding the degrees automaticaly.

gracias.

Brent, can you confirm that the the two switchable ignition maps that I have, are switchable 'on the fly' or do they need to be selected before starting? If they can be switched on the move then I suppose that's another way of reducing knock automatically by selecting the alternative map when sensed....the hard part is actually installing a sensor somewhere that can detect the pre-ignition from all the other clatter going on in the engine.

Hi John,

Yes, maps can be switched on the fly- it was specifically designed to do so.
