MJL throttle servo output?

For installations using good quality, high resolution TPS, would it be useful and possible to add a facility to the MJL to output a PWM (pulse width modulation) to drive one of the new digital RC servos?
These servos have unbelievable power, speed and resolution and could drive a throttle directly, doing away with a mechanical link.

Just a thought.

Nice idea....

...but, raining on your parade a little, that seems a little too close to a safety critical system to me.

Insurance Company: I see Mr Fiddler, so you uncontrollably ran into the back of Mr X as you've fitted a full authority throttle positioning system driven by a community-based PWM-controller and something went horribly wrong. Now, just let me look at your insurance policy where it says your insurance remains in place when you do just that....

Vince,

do you mean full 'fly by wire' or a way to handle idle speed control?
