EDIS tach output problem

Hi guys,

After various problems mainly me, I got my system working ok, once I had the engine running I tested the output of the tach output pin on the edis as there was no wire in the plug, using a piece of welding wire I sucessfully had the original tacho working (90s mini)

I couldnt make a permanent connection so left the tach until I could get another edis plug to fit the correct terminal, since I have been on the rollers and got the mapping done and all is well, I got another edis module and plug this week and today fitted a pin and tried the tach and got nothing! I have checked and rechecked the connections/tach etc but have no output from the edis rpm pin, can this output fail or is there something I can change at the megajolt to switch the output?

I assume the pins are making contact as the connection fitted into the plug perfectly. Ive tried my spare edis module with no result so wonder what Ive done! the engine runs perfectly otherwise.

Hi Andy,

Are you using Megajolt V4 or V3? if V4, try using the TACH_OUT on the MJLJ unit, or try the diode trick. Both documented in our installation guide.

Andy, the Megajolt has a tach out as well as the EDIS. The Megajolt should work fine, and is only one wire, no diodes needed.
