GM Temperature Resistance Calibration

Post by HealeyBN7 »

After nearly 6 years I am finally at the point of tuning my Lotus Europa/Zetec 2.0 Black Top/Weber project car. Yeah!!

I incorporated the recommended GM Temp Sensor into the system and can see the Aux input values change as the car warms up. It would be nice to actually map these values to real temperatures in F so I can see them in the capture mode as well as on the screen.

I found the Ford .txt calibration file in the Maps area, but I could not locate a GM .txt file. I suspect that I am not looking in the right places.

Any help would be most appreciated. Can't wait to ring out the tuning.

Hi Healey and welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you have an interesting mix there. You will have to get some pics up when you have finished.

I would believe the GM and ford CTS (Coolant temperature sensors) would be very similarly calibrated. You could try the Ford calibration. If not it maybe a case of getting a thermometer out and calibrating it yourself I'm afraid.

Thank you for the response. I loaded the Ford calibration file. It is off a bit, but is at least clocked in the right direction. I'll take a few measurements with the IR and edit the file. If I feel it is accurate enough, I'll post it for others.

I also loaded a few pics of the Lotus/Zetec and one older shot of the MegaJolt/EDIS hideaway spot behind the seat. There is a port inside the glove box to pick up the RJ11 jack. Seems to be working pretty good.

I would like to used the Aux input to adjust hot and cold advance. I see the 10-100 bin table, but how does the aux temps ranges correlate to the adjustment bins?

Sorry for being a little dense on the temp adjustments...at least i got it running without a million questions:)

PS: I created another space behind the driver's seat for race capture - hint hint.
